The Triangle Golf Challenge will host its 22nd annual fundraising event June 17 at UNC Finley Golf Course

DURHAM, NC – The Triangle Golf Challenge, a tax-exempt organization that benefits local Triangle charities, has announced their 22nd annual charity golf tournament to be held on Friday, June 17, at UNC Finley Golf Course, Chapel Hill, NC.  Amateur golfers of all skill levels are invited to compete in a two-person scramble format.  

Proceeds from the events will benefit The Banks Foundation, a tax-exempt organization formed in 2000 for the purpose of assisting families who are moving from public housing to private home ownership.

“The generosity of the players, sponsors and all who donate each year makes it possible for The Banks Foundation to assist more families who have demonstrated their desire and ability to realize the American Dream,” said Sherrod Banks, President of The Banks Foundation. “After a brief hiatus due to Covid-19, we are looking forward to a great day on the golf course!”

The Triangle Golf Challenge pre-tournament reception and silent auction will be held at Brier Creek Country Club on Thursday, June 13, 2013, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The proceeds will benefit The Banks Foundation and Communities in Schools.

The cost is $50 per person. Register to attend at www.trianglegolfchallenge.org. Guests of the event will have the chance to mix and mingle with celebrity guests participating in The Triangle Golf Challenge tournament the next morning. Previous years celebrity attendees included Walter Davis, Jerry Stackhouse, James Worthy, Phil Ford and Rod Broadway. The Triangle Golf Challenge tournament will take place the next morning at UNC Finley Golf Course. Triangle Golf Challenge tournament sponsors and players may attend the reception for free.

The Banks Foundation’s 8th Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament

The Banks Foundation 8th Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament was held on June 18, 2010 at  The Preserve at Jordan Lake Golf Club in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

The 8:30 a.m. shotgun start and Walter P. Davis as host made for a highly entertaining and eventful day of golf.
